# Dice

A single die supports 3D rendering. Two to four dice use flat animated rendering. Lite mode or an unsupported graphics environment also uses the flat version; outcomes are unchanged.

Dice do exactly one thing: **roll a number**. There is no prize list, and no "🎉 You won X" ever appears on screen — what a number means is up to the host, announced out loud after the roll ("roll a 6 and I'll sing"). The rule lives in your mouth, so you can change it any time without going back to the console. Unlike scoring games, a roll never affects score.

## What viewers see

A single die supports 3D rendering. Two to four dice use flat animated rendering. Lite mode or an unsupported graphics environment also uses the flat version; outcomes are unchanged.

## Set it up on the Audience Interaction page

This game isn't configured on the "Scoring Games" page — it's set up on the "Audience Interaction" page instead. There's very little to set: no prize list, and no odds to tune.

**1. Pick the Dice tool**

Go to "Audience Interaction" in the top navigation, then pick the "Dice" tab up top — Dice has its own standalone tab, no need to look under "Wheel."

**2. (Optional) Pick the dice count**

"Dice Count" can be set to 1–4. Roll and the overlay shows each die's number side by side. If you want a "add the two together" rule, that's yours to explain to viewers too.

**3. (Optional) Switch the dice style**

"Dice Style" offers seven looks (Classic Ivory, Casino Ruby, Champagne Gold, Jelly Candy, Neon Arena, Polished Marble, Warm Wood). It only changes the material and pip colour of the die — the number rolled is unaffected.

**4. Save to Home**

Once you're done, hit "Save to Home" at the bottom of the page — the Dice control card shows up on Home, ready for you to roll once you're live.

## My settings

Each tool starts with one default setting. Existing custom settings stay available. Select a name under **My settings**, or use **＋ Add** to create another, up to 20 per tool. The setting name is for you; **Screen title** is what viewers see.

Open **More setting actions** to **Rename**, **Create a copy**, or **Manage settings**. Delete only from management, then use **Undo** to restore a deleted setting. Keep at least one setting.

Choose **Start blank** or **Start from a template** when adding. A template creates a new setting and leaves your existing settings untouched. Dice and Poll start blank and have no template picker.

Edits save automatically when you leave the field. Check for **Saved automatically** before switching. If saving fails, use **Retry**; disconnected changes are not saved. Settings keep content and appearance, not votes, draw results, or history.

Wait for the draw animation to finish before switching or managing settings.

## Running it live

Back on Home, tap the saved "Dice" card and hit "🎲 Roll" — the overlay plays the tumble animation and lands on a random number (1–6, evenly distributed, no weighting). "Result History" below logs the last few rolls ("5" for a single die, "3 + 6 = 9" for several) — that log is for you, it never appears on the live screen. Tap "Clear History" to wipe it. Rolling never touches diamond scores; it's a host-triggered mini-game, nothing more.

> **Roll results don't affect score**
>
Dice is a standalone interaction tool, completely independent from the scoring games — the number shown is just an on-screen performance, it doesn't add or subtract points for any team or host.

## Common questions

**Q: Can I set prizes so it announces "rolled a 3 = sing a song" automatically?**
A: No — Dice deliberately doesn't do that. It only rolls the number; what that number means is yours to decide and announce. That way the rule can change any moment without editing a list first. If you want "whatever is drawn shows up on screen," use Wheel, Cards, Omikuji, or the Ball Machine — those four have prize lists.

**Q: How do I control the number of dice?**
A: On the "Audience Interaction" page's "Dice" tab, pick 1–4. Roll and the overlay lines them up side by side. It won't add them up for you — whether and how to total them is yours to say.

**Q: Is every face equally likely?**
A: Yes — 1–6 evenly, each die independent. Dice has no weighting.

**Q: What happens on a computer without 3D graphics support?**
A: The overlay detects it automatically and falls back to the flat 2D die — same number, same pacing, nothing goes blank or breaks. No setup needed on the host's end.

**Q: Does the dice result affect the leaderboard or a scoring game's score?**
A: No. Dice is completely independent from scoring games — the number rolled never adds or subtracts points.
