Team Goal

The "team" in Team Goal means the audience is on your team — it doesn't require a group of hosts. There are no sides and no winner: whoever sends a gift, the diamonds all pour into one shared progress bar, and clearing a threshold within the time limit ticks it off automatically.

It's built for "let's all unlock the next thing together" moments, with no result for the host to judge. Solo streams work perfectly — this game needs no host count, no host roster, and no gift bindings.

Two types

  1. Single goal

One threshold, one bar running to the end. Good for a solo stream's "hit 10,000 in the next 30 minutes and I'll sing".

  2. Milestone ladder

2 to 5 stages unlocked one at a time, listed under the bar. Good for long group streams that climb all evening.

Both score identically. The only differences are how many stages there are and whether the overlay draws the tick row.

What viewers see

A progress bar near the top of the overlay shows the running diamond total against the final threshold, with the time left in the round beside it. A ladder also lists every stage under the bar: an empty box until cleared, then a checkmark in colour. Each time a stage is cleared, a green "🎉 Cleared:" banner pops up for 3.5 seconds; once every stage is done, "🏆 All cleared!" appears under the bar.

Set up before you go live

It ships empty

This game has no default thresholds or duration — solo streams and group streams differ far too much in scale, and preset numbers would feel unusable to one side or the other. Fill them in the first time; you can't start until they're complete.

  1. Pick the game

Open the "Scoring Game" page and choose "Team Goal" in step 1.

  2. Pick the type

Single goal or milestone ladder. Switching from ladder back to single keeps only the first stage automatically — no need to delete stages yourself.

  3. Add a title (optional)

Leave it empty and the overlay skips the title line. You can also add text with TikTok LIVE Studio's own text box instead, which lets you edit the wording without coming back to the console.

  4. Set the round length

Required, in minutes. To run all evening, just enter something large (480, say).

  5. Set the thresholds

These are running totals, not per-stage amounts. Example: 5,000 / 10,000 / 15,000 means the first stage clears once the stream has taken 6,000 in total, and the second at 10,000. Each row shows "+5,000 from previous" so you can sanity-check as you type.

Stage captions are optional too — leave one empty and that column just shows the number.

  6. Save

Press "Save and pin to home" — the config goes into a preset slot and is pinned to the home page, which is where you run it from once you're live.

Running it live

Back on the home page control deck:

When time runs out the overlay shows "Wrapping up…" and holds there. It never rolls straight into another round, so you have time to thank people on air. Press Reset to run another one.

Settings lock once you start

Once a round is running, the type, title, duration and thresholds are all locked, and so is Save on the Scoring Game page. This stops a settings change from silently wiping progress the audience already paid for. If you really need to change something, press Reset first — that way you know the progress is going to zero.

Where the score comes from

Progress counts only the diamond value TikTok reports (diamond_count). Combo gifts settle once, when the combo ends — a rapid burst of small gifts never double-counts.

Common questions

Q: Can I use this on a solo stream? A: Yes, and it's one of the best fits for solo. It doesn't care who sent the gift or who's hosting — every diamond goes into the same bar. The "Host setup" block on the setup page does nothing for this game; leave it empty.

Q: If everything is cleared, does the round end early? A: No. The number keeps climbing, the bar stays full showing "🏆 All cleared!", and it runs to the end of the time — the overage is part of the result. Press End if you want to wrap early.

Q: How many stages can I have? A: A single goal is fixed at 1; a ladder takes 2 to 5. The cap of 5 comes from the width of that tick row — any more and the text crowds together, which is unreadable to someone watching out of the corner of their eye.

Q: Can I run without a time limit? A: No, the duration is required. For something close to unlimited, enter a very large number.

Q: Do I have to write a caption for every milestone? A: No. Leave it empty and that column shows just the threshold number, and the pop-up uses the number too (e.g. "🎉 Cleared: 5,000") — it never goes silent just because there's no text.

Q: Do my saved configs still work? A: After the 2026-07-28 update, saved Team Goal configs need setting up once more (thresholds and duration both). Other games' configs are unaffected.
