Layout looks off / wrong aspect ratio
Overlays automatically scale proportionally to fill whatever Browser Source size you set in TikTok LIVE Studio, so in theory the layout should never distort. If something looks off, first check whether you've set an extreme width/height ratio (e.g. width far larger than height) — sticking to the recommended values in Overlay Sizing & Layout Guide is the safest bet.
Background is black instead of transparent
The overlay's background is always transparent by default — no extra color key needed. A black background usually means:
- You pasted the wrong link (check whether you copied a link from an old game mode)
- The console hasn't connected to the TikTok account yet (the overlay shows a blank screen instead of content)
Can't connect / no display
Check the connection status in the console first — not every "no display" issue is on the TikTok LIVE Studio side:
Troubleshooting order
- Is the console's bottom bar showing a warning color → "Backend not connected"? Fix the backend connection first (check whether antivirus/firewall is blocking it).
- Does the bottom bar's status light show the TikTok account as connected?
- If both look fine, go back to TikTok LIVE Studio and confirm the browser source URL was copied in full (the URL is long, and it's easy to miss a character).
Scores look wrong
Overlay scores only count diamonds officially reported by TikTok. If a score seems like it "should be higher," the usual cause is that streak gifts settle once when the gifting action ends, rather than adding up on every micro-animation. A gift icon showing "Unknown gift" doesn't affect score calculation — it just means the display name hasn't caught up with the latest gift list yet.
