Quickstart: Your First PK

The previous docs cover connecting your account and connecting TikTok LIVE Studio — this one walks you through running your first "PK Battle" from start to finish.

  1. Pick the game mode and player count

On the scoring page, select "PK Battle," then choose how many players face off (2–5), and click "Load mode" to apply it. Before you click it, the screen shows "Not applied yet — click 'Load mode' to switch," as a reminder that it hasn't taken effect.

  2. Bind a representative gift

In the "workbench" panel, bind a representative gift to each team — when a viewer sends that gift, its diamond value counts toward that team's score.

  3. Set the countdown time

Type in a number of minutes directly, or use the "3 min / 5 min / 10 min" shortcut buttons next to it.

  4. Start

Click "Start (N min)" to kick off the battle. The workbench shows a live mini scoreboard that mirrors the same real-time data shown on the overlay.

  5. Countdown ends, auto-settles

When time runs out, the system automatically decides the winner — a win/loss banner pops up on the overlay, with no button for the host to press.

Where scores come from

Scores only count diamonds officially reported by TikTok. Streak gifts get settled once when the gifting action ends, so rapid small gifts never get double-counted. An unrecognized gift icon doesn't affect scoring either — the display name might temporarily show as "Unknown gift," but the diamonds still count.

Once you've run your first battle, check out Overlay Sizing & Layout Guide to layer in more game modes on your stream.
