Song Requests

"Song Requests" is a gift-to-unlock game: open a signup round, and every gift a viewer sends during that window adds to their own running diamond total. Clear the threshold and they're in the running to pick a song; once the round ends, the host asks each winner what they want to hear and logs it into the play queue — then you open the next round. No dedicated gift binding needed — any gift counts.

What viewers see

While a round is open, the overlay shows a countdown plus the diamond threshold / winner count / selection method (top N or lottery), with the top 5 viewers by diamonds listed below — a checkmark once they clear the threshold, an empty box until then. The moment winners are revealed, a "🎉 Song Request Winners" banner pops up for 8 seconds. Outside of a round, the overlay instead shows "🎵 Song Requests" with the current song (plus who requested it) and up to 4 songs queued up next.

Set up before you go live

  1. Pick the game

Go to the "Scoring Games" page, and under step 1 pick "Song Requests". No side count, no hosts to add, no gift binding needed.

  2. Set the signup round parameters

In the workbench below, set the "Threshold (diamonds)" and "Winner count", plus a selection method: "Top N" (highest cumulative diamonds first) or "Lottery" (random draw among everyone who cleared the threshold). Round length only has "1 min / 3 min / 5 min" quick buttons — there's no free-text field. These get saved into the config slot's draft; going live you just click "Open signup" to reuse whatever's saved here, without re-entering anything.

  3. Save

Click "Save & pin to Home" — it saves into a config slot and pins itself to the Home page automatically; you'll run it from Home.

Running it live

Back on the Home page's live console, click "Open signup" to start a round — the countdown runs with whatever threshold/winner count/selection method/duration you saved earlier. While it's open, the screen lists each viewer's current diamond total and whether they've cleared the threshold; you don't have to wait for the timer — click "Settle" to close it early, or let the countdown finish and it settles itself. Once settled, the winner list appears and the host asks each one what song they want, types it in, and clicks "Add to queue" (skip anyone who doesn't answer). Click "New round" to open the next one. The queue panel normally shows "Now playing" with a "Next ▶" button to advance, and each queued song can be deleted individually; you can also skip the signup round entirely and use "Manually add song" (song title, requester optional) to drop something straight into the queue.

Where the score comes from

Any gift sent during an open round adds straight to that viewer's own diamond total — no dedicated gift binding required. It only counts the diamond value TikTok actually reports (diamond_count), and combo gifts settle once, when the combo ends.

Common questions

Q: Can I change the threshold or winner count mid-stream? A: No. Those parameters live on the "Scoring Games" page and get saved into the config slot's draft; going live you can only click "Open signup" to reuse what's already saved. To change them, go back to the Scoring Games page, adjust, and save again.

Q: What's the difference between "Top N" and "Lottery"? A: "Top N" ranks viewers by their cumulative diamonds, highest first, and takes the top few. "Lottery" puts everyone who cleared the threshold into the same pool and draws at random — diamonds only decide whether you're eligible, not how likely you are to be drawn.

Q: Does every song have to come through a signup round? A: No. The queue panel also has "Manually add song" — type a title (requester is optional) and click "Add song" to drop it straight into the queue without opening a round first.

Q: What if nobody clears the threshold in a round? A: The winner list comes back empty and the overlay shows "no one qualified this round." Click "New round" to try again.
